What is New Day Weight Loss?New Day Weight Loss is a telehealth clinic providing personalized medical weight loss treatments under the supervision of an experienced Board Certified Nurse Practitioner to patients in Colorado and New Mexico.
-
How does it work? The medical weight loss programs at New Day Weight Loss are online, subscription based, and designed to be as simple and convenient as possible. Just sign up for a free consultation to see if you qualify. If you do, you can pay for a treatment subscription that is billed monthly, and you'll start receiving weight loss medication delivered directly to your door. That’s it! Once treatment begins, you’ll have unlimited email support from Nurse Practitioner Katharine and connect with her regularly to review progress, answer questions, and make any needed adjustments to your treatment.
-
Why choose New Day Weight Loss?Unlike some telehealth clinics that might treat many different conditions, New Day Weight Loss focuses solely on medical weight loss. It's our speciality and we take pride in our knowledge and results. Additionally, many clinics use multiple providers with no incentive to get to know you, making the process feel impersonal and transactional. And if you need help between appointments, you'll often be sent to a support person instead of your provider. At New Day, when you make an appointment or have a question, you can be sure that it will be from your own dedicated provider who knows you and your weight loss goals and history, and is passionate about providing you personalized care that works.

What medications does New Day Weight Loss prescribe? For those who medically qualify, New Day Weight Loss may prescribe the compounded forms of semaglutide (also known as Ozempic, Wegovy). Semaglutide lowers blood sugar and acts as an appetite suppressant by signaling to your brain that you’re full, so you eat less. It also slows the movement of food through your body so that you feel full longer. It is available to be administered either sublingually (orally) or by injection. Common side effects may include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, and abdominal pain. These side effects can be mitigated by eating smaller meals and having your medication compounded with B12 or other peptides.

How do I administer my medication?Your medication vial will arrive in a chilled shipping container. Upon arrival, please place your vial in your fridge. Consider placing your vial on a plate or in a container to keep it clean and away from food items in your refrigerator. Your medication vial needs to be used within 60 days from the date you open it. When you are ready to begin your medication: Wash your hands with soap and warm water. Gather your supplies. This includes your medication vial, syringe, and alcohol wipes. Clean the top of your medication vial using an alcohol wipe. Get the rubber stopper in the center very clean. You are now going to draw up your medication using your syringe. First, verify your dose. If you are taking, for example, 25 units, you are going to draw up 25 units of air into your syringe and inject this air into the vial. Then, leaving the needle inside the vial, you will draw up your dose. Ensure that your dose does not contain large air bubbles. If it contains air bubbles, inject the dose back into the vial and start again until you get your full dose without any air. Tiny bubbles are okay but large ones will decrease the amount of medication you are getting. Now you are ready to inject your medication. You can inject it anywhere on your body that you can pinch fat. You can use the back of your arm or abdomen. Your injection must go into fat tissue. (Make sure to rotate sites as the weeks go on to avoid scar tissue in one body area.) Choose your site and clean the area with an alcohol wipe. Push the needle all the way into your site and then inject your medication into your body. Then pull out the needle and syringe. Place your used syringe into a sharps container. You can get one of these on Amazon. You can also create one using a hard plastic bottle such as a used laundry soap bottle. If you get redness at the injection site consider using a cool compress to the area. If you have any questions about any of the instructions, your dose, or if you are having side effects please contact me. I can be reached at hello@newdaynewbody.com or 720-803-6544. If you are having severe side effects and need immediate attention please call 911 or go to your closest Emergency Department.

Do I have to keep taking the medications after reaching my goal weight?Once you reach your goal weight you may stop the medications, but some patients choose to continue at a lower dosage and frequency to maintain appetite suppression.
-
Will any conditions disqualify me from treatment?Yes. Medical prescriptions are at the sole discretion of the provider and must be medically appropriate. Some but not all conditions that are disqualifying include personal or family history of medullary thyroid cancer, MEN (Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia) Syndrome, pregnant, breastfeeding, or planning to get pregnant, diabetes, or taking any medications that lower blood glucose levels, kidney disease, or other allergies to the medications.
-
What if I don't qualify for medication?Medical prescriptions require demonstrated medical need and are at the sole discretion of the provider, and cannot be guaranteed.
